The ArtReach Gallery graces the walls of Watson Hall at Lovers Lane United Methodist Church and is the work of the Visual Arts Committee of LLUMC and is sponsored by the Lovers Lane Foundation.  25% of all art sales benefit the Lovers Lane Foundation and the balance is remitted to the specific artist.

Faith and Family

Faith and Family

This Show was Exhibited from May 5, 2017 to June 22, 2017

Celebrating Mother’s Day and Father’s Day

Marilyn Eitzen Jones

In the season of celebrating family, we were thrilled to present this collection of family-themed artwork by our own Marilyn Eitzen Jones. Having had the good fortune to accumulate considerable information about her family background, Marilyn has had the exciting opportunity to produce a number of pieces in a visual format.

Both her father’s and mother’s family share the same background and a very devoted religious faith, which resulted in years of migration in order to preserve their heritage and faith. This exhibit is intended to help tell that story.  Music also played an important role in her family background as well as within her husband’s family so those images became a part of this visual story.

Rev. Mike Baughman is the Community Curator and founding pastor for Union Coffee (a church inside a coffee shop). The editor for Flipping Church (2016), Mike is eager to encounter and support those on the innovative edge of church, non-profit and civic engagement. He has served as author, editor and developer for a long list of curricula through Sparkhouse Press and Cokesbury. Mike learned a lot about basketball while attending Duke University and then earned a couple of pretentious diplomas from Princeton Theological Seminary (they’re both in Latin and hang in his garage).  A third generation Methodist minister and church planter, Mike married a sixth generation Methodist minister, Rachel.  Mike is no stranger to LLUMC, having preached many times in our Crosswalk and Thrive Services.
