Positively Giddy
In 1966, a small group of local artists gathered with a shared dream—to bring the visual arts to life in their growing city. That dream became the Richardson Civic Art Society (RCAS), the first visual arts organization in Richardson, and decades later, still its creative heartbeat. From humble beginnings, RCAS has flourished into a dynamic 501(c)(3) nonprofit that celebrates creativity, supports artists of all levels, and enriches the cultural fabric of our community through its all-volunteer membership. With the support of the City of Richardson Cultural Arts Commission, RCAS continues to inspire, educate, and connect through the visual arts—hosting exhibitions, student showcases, artist demonstrations, and community outreach programs.
The “Positvely Giddy” exhibit is on display from January 22 to April 20 in the ArtReach Gallery in Watson Hall at Lovers Lane United Methodist Church (9200 Inwood Rd, Dallas, TX 75220). So, get “Positively Giddy” by visiting our RCAS exhibit, which showcases more than 40 pieces of art from 20 different artists. The exhibit features a variety of mediums, including oils, acrylics, watercolors, pastels, collages, and mixed media. The ArtReach Gallery is open 9:00 to 5:00, 7 days a week.
Artreach Gallery
The ArtReach Gallery graces the walls of Watson Hall at Lovers Lane United Methodist Church and is the work of the Visual Arts Committee of LLUMC and is sponsored by the Lovers Lane Foundation. All artwork is for sale unless otherwise indicated. Purchase prices are shown on the title cards on display in Watson Hall. A portion (25%) of all sale proceeds benefits the Visual Arts Endowment Fund of the Lovers Lane Foundation. To purchase a piece of art, contact Paul Ditto at 214-706-9561 or email ArtReach@llumc.org.
Visual Arts Committee
We are always looking for artists or individuals with an interest in art to serve on our Visual Arts Committee. Let us know if you would be interested — we would love to talk to you about it! Serving on this committee is a great way to serve the art community and Lovers Lane United Methodist Church and its Foundation. You do not need to be an artist and you do not need to be a member of LLUMC to serve on the Visual Arts Committee.
