Advent Exhibit: Anticipation & Tradition

The Lovers Lane Foundation and its Visual Arts Committee are pleased to present this year’s Advent Exhibit. Advent is a time of anticipation and tradition – in preparation for something special and great to come (the birth of Jesus). This year’s exhibit features the work of 19 artists, showcasing 49 pieces symbolizing the essence of Advent — anticipation, hope, new beginnings, new birth, love, our glorious future, positive outlooks, resurrection, salvation, and more.

The reception for this year’s Advent Exhibit is a collaboration with the Lovers Lane Friends of Music presentation of  their Candlelight Carols Concert on Sunday evening, December 14, featuring KIDSing, Handbells, Sanctuary Choir, & Imperial Brass. The free concert starts at 6:00 p.m. in the Lovers Lane Sanctuary, with the reception following immediately after the concert in the ArtReach Gallery in Watson Hall (probable start time – 7:00 p.m.). This is a juried event, and all submitted pieces will be judged, with prizes and awards presented at the conclusion of the Candlelight Carols Concert in the Lovers Lane Sanctuary.  Refreshments will be served.
